    What would a Claims Adjuster I do?  Handles high volume, low to moderate complexity physical damage claims within settlement authority. Investigate, evaluate, negotiate and resolve non-standard auto insurance claims as assigned to provide quality outcomes.

     

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Responsibilities for the Claims Representative I include but are not limited to:

     

    • Answering calls on an incoming phone queue (60% to 75%)
    • Handles moderate volume, low to moderate complexity auto property damage claims within settlement authority in a team basis.
    • Investigates and reviews policy forms, facts and documents related to claims to make appropriate decisions on claim resolution and claim reassignment
    • Provides direction to outside resources
    • Negotiating claim settlements.
    • Collecting evidence needed to support contested claims in court.
    • Interviewing agents and claimants in order to correct errors and investigating questionable claims.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Understanding of industry practices, standards and claims concepts
    • Prior auto claims experience
    • Strong conflict and resolution skills
    • Strong organization and facilitation skills
    • Able to multitask and solve problems
    • Proficient oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment and software packages

    • Negotiation and relationship building skills
    • Analytical with ability to exercise sound business judgment
    • Time management
