    The Litigation Claim Adjuster position will be accountable for investigating, analyzing and adjusting automobile claims that are in suit to determine if coverage attaches to a risk and if payment is warranted. The work of the Litigation Claims Adjuster is to investigate property damage & bodily injury claims against the automobile insurance as well as pursuing subrogation recoveries due to the Company.


    This position can be located in either our Henderson NV office or Phoenix AZ office. 


    The position will ensure that all work completed complies with state statutes and agency vendor contracts.  Additionally, this position will work with limited supervision and exercise considerable independent judgment.  The position may also include liability loss prevention functions. The position will be held accountable to ensure the claim file is maintained in an organized manner and contain all relevant details to appropriately adjust the claim.

    A LITIGATION claim adjuster needs to be very skillful and the required attributes to do the job are as follows:

    • Handles claims involving suits by unrepresented and represented parties
    • Investigates, evaluates liability and damages and directs outside vendors in the defense of litigated matters
    • Review legal mail for lawsuits, subpoenas and injury demands
    • Evaluates vendor bills for accuracy and mitigation of expenses
    • Analyzes and evaluate overall risk mitigation of files
    • Work with inside and outside customers to protect the insured
    • Resource to other adjusters on liability and injury analysis
    • Assigns proper defense counsel if Manager or Lead are unavailable
    • Collecting evidence needed to support contested claims in court
    • Interviewing agents and claimants in order to correct errors and investigating questionable claims
    • Apply knowledge of claims processes and best practices to bring files to resolution
    • Determines claims value and potential use of experts
    • Investigates, evaluates and negotiates with opposing counsel and other insurance carriers to successfully resolve disputes
    • Determines and explains minimum coverage limits involving single or multiple claimant matters and works to adjust the files with all parties within policy limits




    • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: This person needs to be an excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
    • INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: They need the required skills to establish and maintain the relationship with the business clients
    • RESPONSIBLE: This person needs to be very responsible and have the ability to put a keen eye to the details. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
    • 5 years minimum prior automobile casualty claims handling experience
    • 3 years minimum of Litigation handling experience


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • 4- year College Degree strongly preferred
    • An equivalent combination of training or experience estimating experience or work as a claims adjuster, a property damage adjuster
    • Proficient in basic computer skills
    • Bilingual Spanish a Plus
    • Current Arizona, Nevada and/or New Mexico Adjuster license a Plus
    • Ability to travel overnight on company business
    • Nevada Claims handling experience preferred
